This week in 2 Navy:

Workshops
In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and questioning and inferencing skills. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina with flash writing.  We are following a writing process this term to create a Narrative. Our shared text this week was Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs. Ask your child what trap did the dinosaurs set?  Our grammar focus was similes. In Maths we are continuing daily number sense, number patterns and we explored data collection.

Religion
We are learning about forgiveness.  We explored forgiveness through the Gospel of Luke and how we can following Jesus footsteps to show forgiveness.  This week we have explored the story of Zacchaeus and the steps of reconciliation.

Unit Work
This week students created their own mixture!  They listed what was in their mixture, what it is used for and described its properties.

As a class we have developed six questions we will use during our investigations.  I ask that you spend time discussing these inquiry questions with your child to build their knowledge and understanding of mixtures.
