Week 6 News

If possible can you please bring in 2 extra glue sticks and grid books.  Thank you to those who have already done so and thank you for your support.

2 Navy will be hosting assembly on the 31st of May.  I am asking that the children bring a coloured shirt for our assembly.  Please do not purchase a new shirt for the day.  We will only be wearing the shirt for a small about of time.  If you have the right coloured shirt with a picture we can turn it backwards or inside out just for the day!
Thank you!

This week in 2 Navy:

Workshops
In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and questioning and inferencing skills. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina with flash writing.  We are following a writing process this term to create Information Reports.  This week the children are working on the introduction of our Information Report about ANZAC. We will use our high 5 hand to check our sentences.  Our grammar focus was simple sentences.  Our shared text this week was 'Why are they marching daddy'. Ask your child what ANZAC means? In Maths we are continuing daily number sense, number patterns and we explored division.

We have started to explore what a covenant is.  We are learning about the Bible and in particular the stories we find in the Old Testament.  This week we explored the Old Testament Sarah and Abraham from the book of Genesis.
