Show and Share is due the beginning of next week - Monday the 20th of November.  Please ensure you have completed your research this week for homework and your presentation is ready!




SVDP Christmas Appeal 2017

Our appeal has started for 2017.  Year two are being asked to donate non-perishable food, tinned food and packet food.  Please help this great cause!

Christmas Concert

The Christmas Concert is Tuesday the 21st of November, please be in the classroom not later than 6.15am!  Please read the letter for all details about our concert and return the slip at the bottom of the page.

This week in 2 Navy:

Workshops

In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and questioning and inferencing skills. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina with flash writing.  We are following a writing process this term to write persuasive texts. Our Shared Text this week was Piranhas don't eat bananas'.  Ask your child what they want to eat instead? Our grammar focus was commas. In Maths we are continuing daily number sense, number patterns and our inquiry focus was time.

Religion

This term we are learning about the Jesus' teachings through scripture and how we can through Missions in our community, live out Jesus' teachings.  This week we connected with the Catholic Missions and their mission in our society today.

 

Unit Work

This week we continue to explore the world in which we live.  We will study a number of countries in our world and complete a fact sheet, to help us design and create a Travel Brochure.  This week we published our brochures.
