Parent Information Night is Wednesday the 7th of February at 6.30pm in the Year 2 Classrooms - followed by an information session in the hall at 7pm with Mr Gallon.

This week in Year 2:

Workshops

In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and retell skills. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina.  We are following a writing process this term to create a Recount. Each class has different shared text for the week. Ask your child to retell the story of the week?  Our grammar focus was full stops. In Maths we are continuing daily number sense, number patterns and we explored addition.

Religion

We are learning about the Creation Story.  This week we explored how God created the world.

Unit Work

This week we have focused on our Daniel Morcombe Unit and we have been discussing how we recognise, react and report unsafe situations.

Week 1 News

We have completed our first week in Year 2 and we have had a wonderful time!!  We have rediscovered old friendships and made new ones.  We have remembered our school rules!  We have enjoyed stories, number work and explored safe and unsafe situations!  Most of all we have had fun!!

We are very excited to begin a wonderful year of learning and adventures with your children and families. 

We look forward to meeting you all on Tuesday!

Please meet us in the classroom from 8.35am!

If you are in  2 Navy - search for your balloon - as the sky is the limit for you this year!

If you are in 2 Maroon - search for your minion - as you are one in a Minion!

If you are in 2 White - search for your bumble bee - as you will be busy as a bee this year!


If you are in 2 Green - search for your pencil - as you will be part of the pack!




Please remember to bring all of your labelled equipment for this school year.  Any double items will be stored at school to ensure essential equipment is easily restocked throughout the year!  Thank you for your support!
