This week in 2 Navy:
Workshops
In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and retell skills. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina. Our focus this week was adding adjectives to make our writing sparkle. We will use our high 5 hand to check our sentences. Our shared text this week was a non-fiction text called The Life of a Duck. Ask your child to tell you three facts they learnt about a duck? Our grammar focus was verbs. In Maths we are continuing daily number fact practice, number patterns and exploring the concept of 2D shapes.
Religion
We have begun to look at ways we can be stewards of God's Creation. Ask your child ways in which they can care for all of God's Creations.
This week raised $13.80! We are on our way to our goal of $75, to help buy a pig for a Philippine family. Please help us to reach our goal. Thank you for your generosity.

Unit Work
We have continued to explore lifecycles this week, in particular the life cycle of a mealworm. The children will observe mealworms within the classroom, as they move through their lifecycle and record their observations.
Special Event
The last week of this Term I will be taking one week of Long Service Leave. Due to my absence, I will be having Showcase Night on Wednesday the 22nd of March from 3pm - 4pm, in the classroom. The afternoon will run the same as a normal Showcase evening. Remember this is a time to view your child's wonderful learning. If you would like to discuss their learning please contact me to organise an appropriate time. I understand that this may not suit everyone and to allow for an evening session, the classroom will be open on Wednesday the 29th of March as per the rest of the school.
