Thank you all for a wonderful Term 1!  I hope you all have a safe and happy Holiday and enjoy the Easter Season with your loved ones.  I am looking forward to an exciting Term 2!

If you still have this book at home, please send it into class.  Thank you

This week in 2 Navy:

Workshops
In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and  the comprehension strategy of asking questions. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina.  Our focus this week is writing a response to a stimulus.  We will use our high 5 hand to check our sentences.  Our shared text this week was a non-fiction text called Tadpole to Frog.  Ask your child what is the lifecycle of a frog? Our grammar focus was verbs.  In Maths we are continuing daily number fact practice, number patterns and exploring word problems.

Religion
In Religion we have begun to explore the Story of Easter and continue a focus on the Liturgical Season of Lent.

Caritas Appeal

We raised $26 this week.  We are on our way to our goal of $75, to help buy a pig for a Philippine family.  Please help us to reach our goal. Thank you for your generosity.

Unit Work
We have continued to explore lifecycles this week, in particular we have been comparing and contrasting the lifecycle of a human to the lifecycle of mealworm.  The children will observe mealworms within the classroom, as they move through their lifecycle and record their observations.
