This term students have been given a homework task to complete an Oral Presentation.  There is a detailed letter in the front of their homework book, explain the task.  Please take note of the date at the bottom of the page.  This is your child's date for their presentation.  If you have any questions please email me.

 

This week in 2 Navy:

Workshops

In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and questioning and inferencing skills. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina with flash writing.  We are following a writing process this term to create a Narrative. Our shared text this week was 'Hansel and Gretel'. Ask your child what did Hansel use to get home safely?  Our grammar focus was nouns, verbs and adjectives. In Maths we are continuing daily number sense, number patterns and we explored time.

Religion

We are learning about forgiveness.  We explored forgiveness through the Gospel of Luke and how we can following Jesus footsteps to show forgiveness.

 

Unit Work

This week we have begun our Science Unit.  We enjoyed a wonderful incursion from Street Science, to prompt us to start thinking about mixtures.  As a class we have developed six questions we will use during our investigations.  I ask that you spend time discussing these inquiry questions with your child to build their knowledge and understanding of mixtures.
