This week in Year 2:

Workshops

In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and retell skills. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina.  We are following a writing process this term to create a Recount. Each class has different shared text for the week. Ask your child to retell the story of the week?  Our grammar focus was nouns. In Maths we are continuing daily number sense, number patterns and we had a focus week on past topics.

Religion

We are learning about the Creation Story.  This week we explored how we can be caretakers of God's Creation.

Unit Work

This week we started our HASS unit Past and Present.  Students explored the meaning of these words and how a timeline works.  We have asked students to inquire about these topics and collect things from home that can help us to develop our understand of the past, in order to compare them to the present.  If you are able to send in any amazing treasures it will be greatly appreciated.
