This week in 2 Navy:

Workshops

In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and questioning and inferencing skills. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina with flash writing.  We are following a writing process this term to create Information Reports.  This week the children are working on the body and conclusion of our Information Report about ANZAC. We will use our high 5 hand to check our sentences.  Our grammar focus was statements and questions.  Our shared text this week was 'Mr Archimedes Bath'. Ask your child what was the problem in the story? In Maths we are continuing daily number sense, number patterns and we explored length.

Religion

We are learning about the Bible and in particular the stories we find in the Old Testament.  This week we explored the Old Testament Sarah and Abraham from the book of Genesis.  We explored the covenant God made with Sarah and Abraham and the emotions they would have experienced.

 

Unit Work

This week we have begun our Science Unit.  We are exploring how things move through the forces of push and pull.  We will design, test and modify paper planes to apply our knowledge of force.
