If possible can you please bring in 2 extra glue sticks and grid books.  Thank you to those who have already done so and thank you for your support.

2 Navy will be hosting assembly on the 31st of May.  On Monday students will bring home readings that they may have.  Please spend time practicing with them.
Thank you!

This week in 2 Navy:

Workshops
In reading and writing workshops we are focusing on our reading strategies and questioning and inferencing skills. Daily we are completing writing tasks to build our writing stamina with flash writing.  We are following a writing process this term to create Information Reports.  This week the children are working on publishing an Information Report on the RSL. We will use our high 5 hand to check our sentences.  Our grammar focus was Capital Letters, in particular with Proper Nouns.  Our shared text this week was 'Here they Come'. Ask your child what Wil was watching? Our grammar focus was verbs.  In Maths we are continuing daily number sense, number patterns and we explored fractions.

Religion
We have started to explore what a covenant is.  We are learning about the Bible and in particular the stories we find in the Old Testament.  This week we explored the Old Testament Sarah and Abraham from the book of Genesis

Unit Work
Planning for our monuments is underway!  Students have been put into groups and are working on their design - construction will begin soon!
