Welcome to Term 3

Welcome to Term 3! We hope you have a had a wonderful rest and are ready for a fun and busy Term!

Things to remember:

Homework will begin in Week 2.  2 Navy and Maroon's homework is due Monday and 2White and Green are due on Tuesday.

2 Navy Monuments

2 Navy have been busy creating their monuments.  We have made a video to share all of their hard work.  Click on the link below to view.

Don't forget to come into the Year 2 classrooms on Thursday from 2.45pm - 3.15pm to see all the Year 2 Monuments.

Term 2 - Week 8

Monument Museum
Next Thursday from 2:45pm until 3pm, we will be opening up our classrooms for the other students in Year 2 to check out each others monuments,  parents will be able to attend as well.

Homework
Please ensure that you continue to hand in homework espescially home readers on a daily basis. It is imperative to read to your child as much as possible!

ANZAC Inquiry
It is great to see many students demonstrating their learning during our information report writing as part of English and HASS. Well done, everyone!

Parent/Teacher Interviews
Your classroom teacher may contact you in the coming days to discuss academic progress throughout the semester.

Term 2 - Week 7

ASSEMBLY AND MORNING PRAYER
2Navy is on assembly next Wednesday and 2Maroon are on our daily morning assembly next week!

MONUMENTS
A massive thank-you to all the parents who donated boxes for our monument building day. We will be sending information on a day you can come and view these displays of workmanship.

READING
Please ensure that you still read with your child every night as we are seeing much growth across the year level. Keep it up!

HOMEWORK
A reminder that homework is due on Monday for 2Navy and 2Maroon students, however it is due on Tuesday for 2Green and 2White

Term 2 - Week 6

ST BERNARDINE'S DAY
On Wednesday 23rd of May we are celebrating The Feast Day of St Bernardine. We are having a whole school mass at Siena Hall at 9am where we will also bless the naming of our school buildings reflecting the Franciscan order which St Bernardine attended. We will also celebrate with activities and games.

WELL-BEING WEEK
This week is well-being week at St Bernardine's, this means its a time for family and friends and no homework will be provided for the week.

HOME READERS
Please return all kit folders, so teachers can begin adjusting home readers and levels according to growth. Please note, that kit folders will be returned in Week 7. This will allow you to return your kit folder during the week.

BOXES
A big thank you for everyone contributing to our ANZAC Monument building day, we will be building our monuments this week!

ANZAC Inquiry
Please continue to talk with your child and conduct some research into the questions we sent earlier this term about ANZAC Day

Term 2 - Week 4

Poem
This week for homework, your child will receive a Diamante Poem worksheet for homework. You are welcome to use this for homework or use your own

Mothers Day Stall
Mothers Day Stall is on Wednesday 9th of May - Please give your child some money to purchase some items for Mothers Day. Each class will have an opportunity to visit the stall.

ANZAC Excursion
Our excursion to Greenbank RSL is on next week, please return your permission slips ASAP

Monuments
We now request you bring boxes this week, to build our monuments as part of our investigation around ANZAC Day

Term 2 - Week 3

ANZAC Inquiry
A reminder to please bring boxes next week for our building of monuments of our learning about ANZAC Day and what it means. Please take some time to work through our inquiry questions by researching with your child to gain further knowledge.

EXCURSION - GREENBANK RSL
A letter will be sent out this week regarding our excursion, please bring back the permission slips as soon as possible.We are attending this excursion on Wednesday 16th May.

DANCE FEVER
We are still having Dance Fever every Tuesday afternoon

MATHS
We are learning about time and money next week.
